Laptop has became necessity rather luxury now a days. From education to job, laptop is needed everywhere. Choosing the right laptop which fulfill your requirements is a very difficult job because of do many choices at different price ranges.
Students usually in India do not have high budget to buy there first laptop too expensive and they rather consider to buy a budget laptop which provide them decent specs at a decent price. Today many option are available in the market at the low & mid - range (25k - 45k) laptop categories, but there are some basic point you have to keep in mind before buying a laptop.
• Your main purpose of buying the laptop
Why you want to buy a laptop? whether it's Gaming, coding, machine learning, editing, surfing, watching movies or everything. You should know why you want to buy a laptop before choosing any laptop. Different laptops are made for different purpose.
• Processor
Try to buy latest processor available in the market. If not latest then buy nearest to it. Avoid buying too old processor. Like try to intel i3 10th gen or 9th gen processor rather buying 5th gen. If you are tight on budget then you may prefer Ryzen series Processor. Ryzen laptop are cheaper and have better performance at same range intel laptop. Also Integrated GPU of Ryzen is much better than Intel's integrated GPU. So, for doing task like Gaming, editing Ryzen is better in budget range.
• RAM
Buy atleast a 4GB RAM laptop if you want to buy it for casual stuffs like blogging, surfing etc. For high usage buy a 8 GB laptop and if you are gamer or do video editing then buy atleast 16 GB Ram laptop. If you are buying a 4 GB laptop then make sure that the RAM is expandable, so that you don't face any problem in near future.
• Storage
Prefer SDD over HDD. If you are buying a laptop with HDD storage then make sure it has M.2 slot so that you can put another SDD on that slot.
• Build Quality
While in terms of build quality you are not going to get much options generally all laptops under 35k are made up of plastic. If you increase your budget above ₹40,000 then you may expect a metal body laptop. Even if you are buying a plastic laptop make sure it is good quality plastic and its hinge are made up of metal if you want a laptop for long term.
• Battery
At low end you are not going to get much options related to battery. But bigger battery is always preferred.
• Online or Offline
Many people are confused whether they should buy laptop online or offline. Buy a laptop from where you get best deals wheather its online or offline. See laptop online and then compare the same laptop from offline stores near you. You can also buy a laptop during sale seasons where you can get huge discounts. Currently, Amazon's Great indian Sale and Flipkart Big billon days are offering great discounts on every product.
Never buy refurbished laptop online , there are many problem people face buying a refurbished laptop . You may get good laptop but the risk is higher.
